Sydney live music venue Spectrum turns one this week. I was at the opening night a year ago and have been back dozens of times since. In just one year it’s become a regular landmark of the Sydney music scene. A bit bigger than the Hopetoun, a bit smaller than The Annandale, it fills a good niche and is conveniently located near other Darlinghurst/Surry Hills drinking establishments.
To mark the anniversary Spectrum is promoting a birthday week of shows. The highlights being The Lovetones/The Mares/Tides on Thursday, Expatriate/The Spark/The Valentinos on Saturday and The Holy Soul/Dolly Rocker Movement on Sunday.
The Saturday night show is going to be killer. All three bands on that bill are destined for big things in my opinion.
