I saw Expatriate play at Sydney Uni’s Manning Bar on Thursday. After a whirlwind tour of London, Toronto, Austin, New York and LA they were back playing with confidence to a warm home town crowd.
They’re very good, live and on record – i played their EP endlessly after i got it last year. The international tour seems to have given them more vigor, with Ben the singer venturing into the crowd at times, and generally being a more expressive, charismatic frontman than i’d seen before. They’re soon to go on tour supporting Simple Minds which is a pretty good match up with their synthy anthems.

Good idea, i’ll try and give a heads up in future if there’s a particularly good show coming up.
Was spewing that I missed out on this also! I was going to go, then remembered that I already had made other plans
…..Next time!…yeah I listened to the EP to death too when I got it. It’s a little gem!
My girlfriend pointed out that her PJ Harvey shirt looked good on me. Ha, she’s got a really good Rapture shirt too! Your photos are really good. Thank you
