Despite being at number 1 in the UK, miniature pop sensation Lily Allen was appearing at a dingy little club in Sydney last Thursday night. Puffing on a cigarette and swilling a bottle of cider, Lily breezed through a seven song set to a hyped up crowd.
The lighting at Club 77 is tough for getting a good shot, dim and red. Combined with a 2 song, no flash rule it was tough, and i wasn’t best pleased with my results, but here they are anyway.
The reason for playing such a small venue is presumably for scenes like these – hundreds of people snaked down William Street, most waiting in vain for a chance to get inside.
Apparently she’ll be back later in the year to play one of the summer festivals.
