Elton John at The Sydney Entertainment Centre

The big names keep coming. Here’s Elton John at the Sydney Entertainment Centre last night.

His show on Friday will be the 40th one he’s played at that venue.

Photographing Jet

On Sunday afternoon in Melbourne i had the rather fun photographic assignment of accompanying Jet before, during and after their ’secret’ gig on the banks of the Yarra river for triple j. No staged photos, just fly-on-the-wall stuff.

That meant hanging about in their hotel room, going to their interview with Jay and The Doctor [...]

U2 photos from Sydney

Here’s the rest of my U2 photos from Sydney. There’s the gallery plus you can see a selection at triple j.

It was quite a thrill shooting U2, plus a show of this scale.

This weekend past i saw them play in Melbourne. No photos, it was from the comfort of a seat this time. It was [...]

Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon

Last week was a pretty big one for taking photos, as well as U2 and Kanye West i also photographed Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon for Triple J.

It was quite a thrill seeing Pearl Jam again. I saw them at the Entertainment Centre in 1998 and was a massive fan in the [...]

Win tix to The Ghosts and Infadels

The Ghosts, Dance with Voices and Infadels are playing at The Gaelic Club this Saturday night and i’ve got 3 double passes to give away.
I’ve written about The Ghosts before, they’re young, good looking and make exciting music. Big Stereo likes em too.
According to the NME, Dance with Voices make music that’s [...]

U2 in the rain

Shooting U2 last night was the stuff dreams are made of. It started pouring with rain just before the show started and cleared up almost straight after our three songs were up. The photographers were quite far back from the main stage, lucky i hired the 70-200mm lens. Here’s a quick sample of shots.

U2 Live Tonight Sold Out

Do you know what tonight is? U2 motherchuckers!
I may feign interest in all the latest indie bands, but my big daggy heart lies with U2. This will be my 5th U2 gig after previously seeing them in Sydney, Slane Castle in Ireland, London and last year at Madison Square Garden in New York. You see [...]

Legs Eleven Concert photos

I’ve just uploaded a gallery of photos of the Legs 11 concert, held at the Domain on the 27th October. The show featured Sarah Blasko, Little Birdy, Clare Bowditch, Bob Evans plus Tex Perkins and Tim Rogers accompanied by the Sydney Youth Orchestra. It’s the concert i took that Sarah Blasko and Katy Steele cover [...]

The Ghosts

The Ghosts are the latest Sydney band to create some serious buzz in the local scene. It was about time i saw them for myself so i headed out to see them play at Melt in Kings Cross for the re-launch of party night Boobytrap on Friday.
Thankfully The Ghosts live up to the hype. The [...]

Vendettas and Pinky Tuscadero

Here’s some pictures of Vendettas and Pinky Tuscadero at Spectrum on the 19th October.
This was Vendettas second ever gig but you’ll be hearing plenty more from them. They have heaps of gigs lined up and support from all the right people. In the audience at this Spectrum show were members of Van She, The [...]

Young and Restless win Unearthed!

Triple J announced yesterday that Young and Restless won this year’s Unearthed competition. That’s so exciting and totally deserved. It means they get a slot on the Homebake bill and you can be sure i’ll be there to capture it on camera.

I had a feeling they’d be in with a good chance. Dools was [...]
