The Ghosts are the latest Sydney band to create some serious buzz in the local scene. It was about time i saw them for myself so i headed out to see them play at Melt in Kings Cross for the re-launch of party night Boobytrap on Friday.
Thankfully The Ghosts live up to the hype. The one demo song available on their myspace doesn't really do them justice, but they put on an energetic show with an 80's guitar sound similar to other locals Mercy Arms.
See what they look like in these photos from the gig. Yes, they're very young, still under 18 i believe.
Rumours have the band being courted by Modular, i don't know if anything's signed yet, but they are due to play the Modular Christmas party alongside Klaxons and New Young Pony Club. Last year's Modular Christmas party featured Wolfmother, The Presets, Cut Copy and Van She, so it's usually a pretty good indicator of what's going to be hot in the coming year.

The Boud continues to be in the forefront of those up and comers. You heard it here first! Are they planning to play Melbourne at all?

They are a super ace band indeed another young band that blew me away were bridezilla - 5 16 year olds with a lead violinist, sax and a singer who sounds a bitlike Bjork, extremely precocious and highly original! They played with Ghosts at Candys on the 28th oct before Mercy Arms.... I felt MA were upstaged by both there support acts! Was defo one of those rare potential "history in the making" gigs!

Young and hip they may be, but I had the misfortune of being sat behind these kids on a flight back from Melbourne while they headbanged to Wolfmother on the inflight radio thingy.. Maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy..
