A few weeks back i ventured to Youth Group's recording studio with Time Out writer and ex Youth Group band member Jason Walker.
The bearded band have created a home made studio in a disused dockworkers mess hall by the harbour in Waverton. When i visited they were about half way through recording and when i returned a few weeks later and they'd almost wrapped up.
Anchored next to the studio is a decrepit old lighthouse supply vessel that the band took us on a tour of. They've done some recording on board and it was also the scene of their Skeleton Jar video clip some years back.
The as yet untitled album is due out in the first half of this year.

Sorry to change the topic but any idea when the new Jason Walker album is out? An extremely underrated talent.

Nice photos. It's great that Youth Group are recording, but what ever happened to the Toby Martin solo album?

Hi there. I love your photography, it's incredible, I'm so inspired.. What camera do you use?

Stove - Jason tells me the album ought to be out around March.
Matt - i think that may be on hold while Youth Group gets back into gear with their new album.
Sarah - i use a Canon 5D. But that's really got little to do with the photography. It's more about good subject material.

Not wanting to take the focus off Youth Group (heard a few of the new songs the other day when they supported Interpol, not the best set, no doubt recording has taken it's toll on Toby's voice, but the new stuff sounded very cool) but on the topic of Jason Walker, did they end up finding a new guitarist?
