These are some photos from Moon Bar on the rooftop of the Banyan Tree hotel in Bangkok. The effect with the lights is a simple technique that i learned from Cybele who learned it from Andrew G while shooting a party at Harry M Miller's penthouse.
Using flash, simply set your shutter speed to about half a second and take your photo while spinning the camera in a circular fashion. Check my settings here.
You need to be in a location where there is lots of speckled light behind the subject, such as a rooftop at night with the city in the background.
This is what it looked like with the camera held still.

That's a beautiful woman in striped dress! But I can't understand how she can smile on such height :-)

Thanks for posting the settings - I foresee a lot of spinning pictures over the next few weeks.

That's the first time I've seen it used for people shots, usually it's just cars and cities. It looks very cool, I like the first photo. It looks like she's in a spinning time warp.

Oldest trick in the book, but thanks for sharing!
Remember, not all long exposures will work well, lights must be speckles only, cos the blotchy lights ruin it.
I like your photos :)
