Here’s some photos from the Sydney premiere of Bruno at the State Theatre plus the after party hosted by Time Out Sydney at Zeta Bar in the Hilton.
Shooting these things is simultaneously exciting and mind numbingly dull. Photographers queue for hours beforehand, trying to nab a plum spot in the media pen. Then it’s waiting, waiting, waiting until the talent arrives. Then it’s pandemonium.
This instance was even more hectic as all the photographers and camera crews escaped from their pens to swarm around Bruno as he swanned around the street with his white horse and greeted fans.
After the premiere, Time Out hosted an after-party round the corner at The Hilton. Sasha Baron Cohen was in attendance but i wasn’t allowed anywhere near him. While he laps up the attention in character as Bruno, he’s very private as Sasha and shuns the spotlight.

Noticed you were near the front of the line before registration, least you weren’t annoyed by the 10 regular line cutters – wish someone would say something
My god it was crazy when he arrived though, I should have done what everyone else was doing & shove my way to the front….had to shoot blindly with one hand while propping myself up on the barricade with the other hand haha
After Party shots as well, arrived at 4:30-5′ish? Long night!
