Levity Records launch
This evening was the launch of the Levi’s Jeans sponsored record label Levity. The first and so far only signing, Kiwi band Cut Off Your Hands played at the event held at the National Art School. It’s an interesting marketing and music business initiative. Levi’s paid for the recording of Cut Off Your Hands new [...]

MTV Australia Video Music Awards
I photographed the MTV Australia Video Music Awards at Acer Arena on Sunday night. It was an elaborate affair with big name attendees like Fergie, Pink, Good Charlotte, 30 Seconds to Mars, Nicole Richie and a host of Australian bands and b-grade ‘celebrities’. Despite the big names, taking pictures at an event like this is [...]

Purple Sneakers Centenary
It’s been some time since i’ve taken party snaps at Purple Sneakers – but when i was asked to shoot the 100th Sneakers i figured i ought to. I was there on the first night almost two years ago – taking snaps for the street press. Like most party nights i expected it would make [...]

SXSW interactive partying
Ow, my head hurts. Too many vodka + redbulls at the Purevolume/Virb party last night. It was a good party though. It’s the last day of the interactive conference today, then music starts tomorrow. A whole fresh bunch of music types will be arriving in town as the geeks are shipping out.

Bloody party pix
It’s been a while since i’ve posted any party photos, so here’s some that have been sitting on my computer from Halloween last year. A spooky house party at Dena and Nate’s.

One80 Project street party photos
I photographed the launch event of the MTV Optus One80 Project the other week. They threw a street party in Darlinghurst, screening film finalists between live sets by The Temper Trap and Something with Numbers. Free booze and food, live music and fun film pilots. If only it happened every Sunday. You can see more [...]

Jack Awards Nominations 2007
Last night i attended the Jack Awards nominations at the Gaelic Club. I was taking photos as per usual. The music industry crowd seemed to enjoy the free booze and networking but were rather bemused by Airbourne’s big pub rock show. I love their over the top show, fireworks and all, but most of the [...]

AM Eyewear party photos
I was back doing the social photo thing the other week at the Gaelic Club. It was a party thrown by AM Eyewear. So i got paid in cash and free sunglasses – noice. There were lots of fashionable kids getting messy off free sangria. A few bands played including The Temper Trap, Shaky Hands [...]

All fun and free booze makes Dan a hungover boy
I went to the Jack Awards last night. I didn’t take my proper camera but couldn’t help but snap the odd photo with my pocket wonder. Tony Mott peers out from behind his Best Rock Photographer award. Fellas from Jet, Eskimo Joe and The Living End. Darren from Gerling and Ms Flowerpot. You may recognise [...]
