Here’s the full range of photos from the show at The Wall. They’re pictures of bands i took during the My Filthy Riot festival at The Annandale in March.

The Scare

They were taken backstage over the weekend. I’d approach the acts, explain that i was taking pictures and ask them to pose for me. No fuss and all done very quickly.

It wasn’t for anything in particular, just a photo project for the hell of it.

Some pictures from December 2007 of Operator Please that i neglected to post at the time.

These were press photos, to refresh the previous photos i did.

This time they wanted something a little more sophisticated, less young and ‘cute’.

Some shots were done in the studio, with props i hired from Mitchell Road Auction Centre. The others were taken at the auction centre, in the goods lift and auction floor.

Back in February i took press shots for Gold Coast band Operator Please.

It was such a fun shoot and the band were a pleasure to spend time with. They’re very young (aged between 16-18) and have that youthful energy and lack of pretention but they’re also very savvy and self aware. Talented musicians too – they know how to write a catchy song.

They’re hard at work touring the country at the moment. They play at Candy’s Apartment in Sydney tonight with many other cities to follow. After that they’re touring in support of The Kaiser Chiefs, then do it all again in support of Maximo Park. Then they play Leeds and Reading festival in the UK!
