I did a little photo shoot with Belles Will Ring last week which is on the cover of Drum Media this week.

It was a bit last minute, the only time everyone was available was 8.30pm the night before the cover artwork was due. We used the studio, with a couple of coloured lights on each side of the band. It was intended to give the photos a 60′s sort of vibe, to complement the bands music.

The band are embarking on a tour, starting this weekend in Melbourne. Details are on their myspace.

Before i post some new band press shots i’ve done lately i thought i’d dig up some older ones that i recently found on my hard drive and put on Flickr.

Above is Pinky Tuscadero in 2005 in a photo that never saw teh light of day. Pinky are sadly no longer with us having disbanded in the new year. But expect new musical projects to emerge from the ashes.

Belles Will Ring at Rose Seidler House. They are playing some shows soon and have a new song on the radio called Park Benches.

An outtake from the Young and Restless shoot you’d think i’d have done to death by now. They are playing at the opening night of Bad Kids Recreation Club (BKRC) in Sydney on Saturday.

And a Dappled Cities Fly photo which didn’t make the original cut. Dappled are playing in Sydney next weekend at Paddington Townhall and the Laneway festival before jetting off to America.

Death Cab For Cutie

Here’s some photos from Death Cab for Cutie’s gig at Rebel Rebel on Saturday. They were supported by Belles Will Ring, with and Sparkadia and Wons Phreely later in the night.

The live shots aren’t too crash hot as i had to contend with a crammed audience. Those Death Cab fans sure are eager to squeeze as close as possible.

Sparkadia played the smaller room upstairs which was packed. During Up in the Air (mp3) they had the whole crowd singing in unison, it was quite a moment, one you don’t often see except for bigger bands.

As is usual at Rebel Rebel, the club night kicked off after the main act finished, with people dancing the night away.
