bloc Party headline Stubbs on Day 2. The new record sounds great live.

I’m only about 3 months late with posting these pictures, but here’s some photos of day 1 and 2 of the SXSW Music Festival.

There was some great acts including Bloc Party, Amy Winehouse, The Presets, The Pipettes and plenty more.

Johnny Borrell

Kirsten Dunst’s boyfriend, Johnny Borrell of Razorlight shows off his six pack.

Day 1 includes photos of The Young Knives, Yo Majesty, Razorlight, Pete Townshend, Children Collide, Expatriate, Mumm Ra, Macromantics, Lily Allen, Jamie T and more.

Day 2 includes photos of Youth Group, The Presets, The Pipettes, The Fratellis, The Dears, The Bravery, Bloc Party, Amy Winehouse and more.

Amy Winehouse

Daddy’s girl Amy Winehouse played an early set at a British BBQ.

If you consider that i saw just a tiny fraction of the bands who were playing on those days it gives you an idea of the breadth of acts on show at SXSW. Well over 1000 come to Austin for the four days.


Lily Allen

Lily Allen headlined the NME event at Stubbs. That didn’t stop her having a rant at how much she hates the mag.

Children<br /> Collide

Children Collide played a typically energetic set.

The BRavery

Yes, The Bravery still exist.

The Presets

The Presets played to a capacity crowd at The Beauty Bar.

Roller Derby

I took time out from the bands to go to the Roller Derby with a posse
of Sydneysiders.

Lethal bizzle

Lethal Bizzle. I don’t know anything about them. Or is it a him?

The Pipettes. Rivalling Amy Winehouse for best looking act act the festival.

Just a brief check in. The music festival is madness. So tired. I treated myself to a sleep in today.

The Presets

I’ve signed up with a photo agency called Retna, and they require my photos asap, and tightly edited with captions. So every night i come home i’m up to the wee hours sorting that out.

Saul Williams

It’s the last proper day of the festival today. Although it’s exhausting it’s also loads of fun, so i’ll miss it when it’s over.
