Here’s some snaps of comedian Wil Anderson taken for a feature in the latest Time Out Sydney.

In the tradition of naming his standup shows with a pun on his name, Wil’s latest show is called Wilosophy.

Which is why we thought it’d be fun to dress him up as a philosopher.

So i hired a toga, grabbed a fake book off my bookshelf and voila, instant Greek philosopher.

Dan: "So you're ready to change into the toga?" Wil: "Hahaha" Dan: "... no, i'm serious"

Wil's quite notorious for wearing thongs all the time, so it made sense to keep them for this look.

For those curious about the lighting, it was one gridded softbox up high on camera left, and a smaller softbox on the floor camera right. I also used polyboards to shape the light hitting the background.

Popping balloons with Adam Hills

Here’s some snaps i took with comedian Adam Hills prior to an interview with Time Out at his publicists office.

His tour is called Inflatable, so i went the literal route and got him to inflate a balloon to the point where it burst in his face. I figured it would make a nice series and loosen him up.

We went through it twice, once on a plain white wall then against a red door.

Sydney Barmy for Russell Brand

Sydney seemed in the grip of Russell Brand fever when he visited last week to perform two sold out nights at the Enmore Theatre and Hordern Pavilion.

He’s got quite the reputation as a ladies man and I got to see the effect he has on womenfolk up close at an after party Time Out hosted for him at Ivy Pool Club.

Dozens and dozens of women were all clamouring for his attention, trying to talk their way into his VIP section of the party or dance sexily in his eye shot. It was a strange scene. The next day Russell tweeted that he “felt like an exhibit in a nit wit zoo”.

Here’s Russell with Time Out Sydney‘s editor Dan Rookwood and Ivy owner Justin Hemmes.

I was stuck downstairs for most of the night, snapping pictures on a Time Out media wall.

It can get a bit dull shooting the same old photo, so if people are up for something more creative then so am I.
