<p>These are some photos from <a href="http://www.banyantree.com/bangkok/facilities/dining/vertigo.html">Moon Bar</a> on the rooftop of the <a href="http://www.banyantree.com/en/bangkok/index.html">Banyan Tree hotel</a> in Bangkok. The effect with the lights is a simple technique that i learned from <a href="http://bangbangdot.com/">Cybele</a> who learned it from <a href="http://andrewg.tv/blog/">Andrew G</a> while shooting <a href="http://www.sunherald.com.au/parties/gallery.html?cID=912060276">a party</a> at <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_M_Miller">Harry M Miller&#8217;s</a> penthouse.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreadfuldan/2336754235/" title="_MG_9253 by dreadfuldan, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3092/2336754235_dda0a79be7.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="_MG_9253" /></a></p>
<p>Using flash, simply set your shutter speed to about half a second and take your photo while spinning the camera in a circular fashion. Check <a href="http://flickr.com/photo_exif.gne?id=2337578638">my settings here</a>.</p>
<p>You need to be in a location where there is lots of speckled light behind the subject, such as a rooftop at night with the city in the background.</p>
<p>This is what it looked like with the camera held still.</p>
