A while ago someone asked me who my favourite photographers are and i struggled to come up with any names he&#8217;d recognise. I realised all my favourite photographers are people whose work i know from <a href="http://flickr.com/">Flickr</a>. Sure there&#8217;s a handful of big name photographers i like, but it&#8217;s my flickr contacts who really inspire me with the new work they exhibit every day.
</p>
<p>
Here&#8217;s a few that stand out from the crowd:
</p>
<p><span id="more-1482"></span></p>
<p>
<a href="http://flickr.com/photos/ambrel/">Nikola Tamindzic<br />
</a><br />Best party photographer out there. More <a href="http://ambrel.net/">here</a>.
</p>
<p><a href="http://flickr.com/photos/ambrel/33487734/in/set-77239"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/21/33487734_a2a498265b_d.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>
<a href="http://flickr.com/photos/cymagen/">Cymagen</a><br />
Beautiful lighting, mood, locations and women.
</p>
<p>
<a href="http://flickr.com/photos/jeremycowart/">Jeremy Cowart<br />
</a><br />Great band promo shots amongst other things.
</p>
<p>
<a href="http://flickr.com/photos/el_tom/">Tom Williams<br />
</a><br />This guy takes sympathetic on-the-street portraits of the colourful characters of Kings Cross.
</p>
<p><a href="http://flickr.com/photos/el_tom/86361096/"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/42/86361096_d5b77b2547_d.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>
<a href="http://flickr.com/photos/alexcraig/">Alex Craig<br />
</a><br />Another Sydney photographer &#8211; everything he does impresses me.
</p>
<p>
<a href="http://flickr.com/photos/merkley/">Merkley???<br />
</a><br />Beautiful girls creatively retouched. See also, my <a href="http://www.boudist.com/gallery/v/Excursions/euro-usa-2005/merkley-party/">party photos from Merkley&#8217;s place</a>.
</p>
<p><a href="http://flickr.com/photos/merkley/109733267/in/set-72057594080631161"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/45/109733267_9aeee11b8c_d.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>
<a href="http://flickr.com/photos/cybele_malinowski/">Cybele<br />
</a><br />I&#8217;m biased but i&#8217;m always impressed by her eye and technique.
</p>
<p>
<a href="http://flickr.com/photos/robsargent/">Robert Sargent<br />
</a><br />I don&#8217;t know anything about him but his old school film shots of anonymous women in various states of (un)dress are mysterious and unique.
</p>
<p>
<a href="http://flickr.com/photos/72dpi/">Kara Yerex</a><br />
<br />Beautifully stylised photographs including self-portraits.
</p>
<p><a href="http://flickr.com/photos/72dpi/124522763/"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/37/124522763_387eff8bfe_d.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>
I like them all for different reasons, but what they have in common is a unique personal aesthetic &#8211; i can see a consistency in their work. They&#8217;re not just taking snapshots, they&#8217;re telling stories and making something beautiful.</p>
<p>No doubt i&#8217;ve left people off the list but that just leaves room for more later. Any personal faves of yours you&#8217;d care to share?</p>
