I was back taking photos at Purple Sneakers on Friday night after a few months absence. It’s still going strong with lots of kidlets dancing, getting trashed and making out.

Rebel Rebel

The fine folks who put on Purple Sneakers are part of a grand new venture dubbed Rebel Rebel at Home nightclub. Every Saturday night they promise a “collision of club and live music culture” featuring international and local bands and dancing till dawn.

It’s an ambitious goal filling a space that big every week (it fits around 1500 people) but could be a hit if the bands are good and the punters embrace it. It’s certainly good to see live music invade the club scene.

The opening night on May 6th sees Liars team up with Swedish band Shout Out Louds. I’ll be checking it out.
