Swimming with the fishes in Phi Phi

It’s been a bit quiet round these parts as i was dipping my toes into the warm waters of Thailand.

iPhone tour of the USA

As i mentioned before, on my recent US trip it was a joy to just be on holiday and take happy snaps again. That meant leaving the SLR behind most of the time and just using the iPhone. As The Awl pointed out the other day, it’s getting a little old hat adding film effects [...]

Tour USA

In Joshua Tree National Park on the drive to Las Vegas

It’s been a bit quiet round these parts because i’m on holiday at the moment in the US. Cybele and i are in New Orleans now, leaving on a drive along the Gulf Coast today towards Miami, then onto New York. I’ve been enjoying not worrying about photography and just being a tourist again, taking [...]

Home from holidays

Cybele and I have just returned from a lovely week long holiday on the Fijian island of Matamanoa. Like our last holiday, i hardly took any photos. Since doing photography for a living, holidays have been more of an occasion for downtime, away from the camera, laptop, iphone and distractions of twitter, facebook, email, rss [...]

Shooting the shooter

I’ve been on holidays the past few weeks, taking in Kersey, London, Amsterdam, Dortmund, Cologne, Berlin, Athens and Milos. Oddly i found that i didn’t have the desire to shoot much. So it’s probably one of my least photographed holidays ever, but one of the most enjoyable. When i met up with Cybele in Greece [...]

Leaving on a jetplane

I’m catching a plane to Thailand this afternoon. I’ve got a few nights in Bangkok, a few nights in Ko Tao with a wedding in between. See you on the other side.

Back from Fiji

It was lovely, as you’d expect. A proper tropical paradise. We spent most of our time on a resort called Amunuca on Tokoriki island. I took less photos than i expected, the camera really only came out at dawn and dusk. One casualty of the trip was my fancy phone. It was soaked through after [...]

Gone Fishing. In Fiji.

I’m jack of this freezing Sydney weather – i’m off to Fiji. I’ll be out of radio contact for 7 days. See you on the other side.

New York finale

And to put my USA pictures to rest here’s my photos from New York. I love New York so much. Every time i visit i have the most awesome time and meet so many great people. One of these days i’ll get off my arse and move over there. After the R&R of Vegas New [...]

SXSW Interactive 2007 photos

Here’s some random photos from my time in Austin, Texas for SXSW Interactive. The days were spent listening to panels and chatting with other internet junkies and the evenings spent enjoying the multitude of parties on offer. Someone described it as summer camp for web nerds. Lots more in the photo gallery.

True tales of San Francisco

My trip to the US is all but a distant memory but i did take some pictures to remember it by. Most never made it to the blog – so allow me to reminisce. First up is some photos from San Francisco where i spent a few days with me old mate Krankiboy. I’ll try [...]

Australian Acts at SXSW

As usual Airborne put on a great show to a packed out crowd. There were quite a few locals headbanging along – and Joel did his usual thing of jumping on the bar and playing his guitar along it. I didn’t manage to catch Dallas Crane play but i did see them at an Aussie [...]

Leaving Las Vegas for NYC

I’ve touched down in New York City on the final leg of my USA tour. Like last time i was here, i’m being graciously hosted by Jamie Boud, this time also sharing his place with Deborah and two cats. Not only is it good staying with Jamie because he’s good company and has a sweet [...]

Arriving in Las Vegas

Life is pretty sweet when you get picked up at Las Vegas airport by your friends in a BMW, drive back to their house and drop your stuff. Then head out in a Porsche convertible to the edge of town and take in the sunset against Red Rock Canyon.

Farewell Sydney

I set sail tomorrow afternoon for San Francisco on the first leg of the Boudist USA tour. As a reminder, my schedule looks like this: March 5-8 : San Francisco March 8-19 : Austin March 19-21 : Las Vegas March 21-29 : New York I still have a backlog of stuff to post here – [...]

Coming to America

Almost a week now till i depart for America. The itinerary looks like this: March 5-8 : San Francisco March 8-19 : Austin March 19-21 : Las Vegas March 21-29 : New York So excited. The primary reason for the trip is to attend South by Southwest (SXSW). I’ve got myself a platinum badge and [...]

Back from holidays

It’s been a bit quiet on the blogging front since i’ve been away from the internets. I’ve spent the past couple of weeks on holidays in Melbourne, Daylesford (in the Victorian countryside) and at Blueys Beach, on the NSW coast about 5 hours drive north of Sydney. It’s been bliss spending time with friends, without [...]

Happy holidays

A few random photos from my Flickr photostream for the holidays. Hope you’ve had a good few days off amongst friends and family. I’m flying off to Melbourne this afternoon to spend a week in the countryside, so things will be rather quiet round here. Have yourselves a fun new years. Thanks to all of [...]

New York, New York

5 years ago today i was in London. That afternoon I was in a Starbucks reading by a window overlooking Tottenham Court Rd. About 4pm i started to notice agitated people hurriedly hopping on crammed buses. I thought it was rush hour hitting early and didn’t think much of it. I ambled across the road [...]

Gone Fishing

I’m off to Byron Bay today for a week. The excuse is Splendour in the Grass but i’m just looking forward to kicking back and doing nothing much at all.

Wolfmother in London

I saw Wolfmother play at Cargo on Friday night and they were as great as i’ve come to expect. The place was crawling with Australians and i bumped into heaps of people i knew. It was like a night out in Sydney. I took some live shots and social stuff.
